Romanian telecom authority issues total fines of RON 351,500 in Q1

Romania's telecom authority Ancom performed 739 inspections on the market of electronic communications and radio equipment, as well as on the postal service providers market in the first quarter. As a result of these controls, Ancom sent 27 notifications and applied 105 warnings and 60 contravention fines totaling RON 351,500. At the same time, sanctions were applied following the organisation of a campaign whose aim is to check mobile operators' compliance with mobile voice coverage obligations. This action started in 2019 and was completed earlier in 2020.
