
Rostelecom completes federal Wi-Fi project in Siberian villages

Russian national operator Rostelecom announced that it has completed the deployment of public Wi-Fi hotspots under the the federal programme on elimination of the digital divide in villages in Siberia. Public Wi-Fi hotspots have been deployed in 1,954 villages, connected by 27,752 km of new fibre-optic lines. The programme was started in 2014.
