Russia, Sweden sign memorandum on roaming rates cut
Nikolay Nikiforov, Russian Minister for Communications and Mass Media, and Anna-Karin Hatt, Swedish Minister of ITC, have signed a memorandum on reducing international roaming rates. The memorandum has also been signed by representatives of Russian operators Rostelecom, MTS, Beeline and Megafon, as well as by Swedish operators Tele2, TeliaSonera, Telenor and 3 Sweden. A definitive agreement to reduce roaming rates is planned to be reached within six months.

The Eurasian Economic Commission has prepared a draft document on ending international roaming charges for people travelling across Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, reports Tut.by. The draft decision is based on similar legislation valid in the European Union.

Telia Sweden announces new EU roaming prices from 01 July

Telia Sweden said it is cutting its prices for roaming within the EU for both retail and corporate customers from 01 July. The cost of ringing home to Sweden from another EU country will fall by 22 percent from SEK 3.20 to SEK 2.49 per minute for retail customers. Incoming calls will fall from SEK 0.88 per minute to SEK 0.73. Sending an SMS will cost SEK 0.84 instead of 0.99. Sending an MMS will cost SEK 4.75 instead of SEK 7.50.

Tele2 Russia introduces daily mobile internet roaming option

Mobile operator Tele2 Russia has introduced its new Eurointernet mobile internet roaming option. Unlimited mobile internet services are offered for RUB 5 daily when roaming in certain European countries. Activation costs RUB 30, and the first activation is offered free. The option is accessible in Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia and Kazakhstan.
