Safaricom appoints Joseph as interim CEO
Kenyan operator Safaricom’s board has appointed Michael Joseph as acting CEO following the death of Bob Collymore on 1 July. Joseph is currently the chairman of Kenya Airways and previously served as the CEO of Safaricom. The board said Joseph will hold this position until the board communicates in due course on a permanent appointment. 

The board said its confident that during this transition, Joseph will provide the necessary guidance and leadership to the company and its employees. Collymore, 61, died at his Nairobi home following a battle with cancer.
