Samsung confirms Galaxy S9 launch for MWC

Samsung Electronics announced that it will unveil its next flagship smartphone on 25 February, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The company said the next generation of Galaxy devices "reimagines the camera and redefines the way you share your moments". 

The announcement was accompanied by a '9' image, suggesting the next installment in the Galaxy S series. Further details of the new phone were not provided. 

The launch comes less than a year after the introduction of the Galaxy S8. That was unveiled at the end of March 2017 and went on sale in April.

MediaMarktSaturn to offer rentals of Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+

Customers can also choose to rent either the Galaxy S9 or S9+ from Saturn for a period of six months and pay a monthly rental fee of EUR 1 for the first three months, followed by a monthly fee of EUR 74.90 for the Galaxy S9 and EUR 84.90 for the Galaxy S9+ for the final three months. Afterwards, customers can return their phone or continue renting them. Saturn's rental offer for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ is only available in its OnlineShop as well as in five Saturn outlets in the Berlin metropolitan area.

O2 Germany is now taking pre-orders for Samsung's Galaxy S9 and S9 smartphones. Customers can pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S9 for EUR 841 and the Samsung Galaxy S9+ for EUR 949 in the colours midnight black, coral blue and lilac purple at O2. Customers can pay for the phones upfront at O2 stores or in monthly installments of EUR 35 for the Galaxy S9 and EUR 39.50 for the Galaxy S9+ over 24 months plus a one-time fee of EUR 1. Samsung unveils new flagship Galaxy S9, S9+ smartphones at MWC

Samsung Electronics unveiled its new flagship Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones in Barcelona ahead of the start of Mobile World Congress. The phones offer an upgrade to the camera, storage and speed compared to the S8, including new AR options, and will be slightly more expensive than the previous generation from Samsung.
