Samsung launches rugged S8 Active with AT&T
Samsung announced a new rugged version of its flagship Galaxy S8 smartphone, launching in the US first with AT&T.

The Galaxy S8 Active comes with a metal frame and bumper to protect against shock, abrasion, tilting or twisting. The back cover also has a rugged, tough texture for a secure grip. The shatter-resistant screen comes with a protective layer for the 5.8-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED Display, and the new phone features a bigger battery than the original S8, at 4,000 mAh. It will launch with Samsung's voice-activated digital assistant Bixby.

The smartphone is available to pre-order and will be in stores from 11 August in the colours Meteor Gray and Titanium Gold. For a limited time, the S8 Active will be exclusive to AT&T and come preloaded with the operator's OTT video service DirecTV Now. With an eligible service contract, the phone costs USD 28.34 per month over 30 months.
