
Samsung Pay transactions top KRW 10 tln in South Korea

Samsung Electronics announced that its mobile payment service Samsung Pay has reached KRW 10 trillion (approximately USD 8.76 billion) in accumulated transaction volume in South Korea. Of the total volume, 30 percent of transactions were carried out via online platforms, Yonhap news agency reports. The Samsung Pay platform went live in South Korea in August 2015 and reached KRW 2 trillion in transactions in the first year following launch.
