Samsung probed for misleading ethical image in ads
Three French NGOs, Sherpa, Indecosa-CGT and Peuples Solidaires pour Publicite Trompeuse (PSPT), have sued Samsung in a court in the Paris suburb of Bobigny for misleading advertising. They claim that the mobile phone giant promotes its ethical values while flouting workers' rights at its Chinese plants. Les Echos reports that the prosecutor's office has begun a preliminary investigation into the case. Samsung said in September last year that it would inspect 250 factories after being accused of labour violations by US group China Labor Watch.
