Samsung, Softbank partner on Korea-Japan VoIP service
Samsung Networks and Softbank's internet unit, Softbank BB, have teamed up on a free IP telephony service between Japan and South Korea. Samsung Networks provides the internet phone service Wyz070 while Softbank provides the BB Communicator, an internet softphone. The service targets Korean consumers with family in Japan or businesses with offices across Japan and Samsung plans to engage in aggressive marketing to those groups, the Korean Overseas Information Service reports. Furthermore, Samsung plans to seek partnerships with other internet counterparts in the US, China, Europe, and other regions for loc-cost international calls.
