Samsung unveils LTE Galaxy smartphones in Korea

Samsung has unveiled its Galaxy S II LTE and Galaxy S II HD LTE smartphones in Korea, reports the JoongAng Daily. The Galaxy S II LTE is similar to the Galaxy S II; it runs on Android 2.3 but has a 4.5-inch Super Amoled Plus display and a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. The Galaxy S II LTE model will sell for KRW 858,000 through Korean operator SK Telecom. Samsung also showcased its Galaxy S II HD LTE, which has a 4.65-inch high-definition Super Amoled screen. It will cost around KRW 900,000 and will be available on all three mobile carriers. Samsung president JK Shin declined to give sales estimates for the two new smartphones. SK Telecom has reportedly decided not to offer unlimited data for its LTE-handset service plans amid concerns of clogging up networks, but the government has delayed authorising this because consumers might have to pay more for data without unlimited plans.
