Samsung unveils touch-screen phones with Gesture Lock

Samsung has unveiled two new mobile phones with the feature Gesture Lock. The new feature allows users to simultaneously unlock the handset and open a designated menu by drawing a letter on the touch screen. Each letter of the alphabet is linked to a specific menu on the phone, and users can set the applications according to their preferences. The two handsets with the new feature are the S5230 and S5600, which are expected to launch in Europe in April and May respectively. The S5230 is 11.9mm thick and comes with a 3-inch WQVGA touch screen. The phone features Samsung's TouchWhiz interface and mobile widgets, a 3.2 megapixel camera and video recording at 15 fps. The phone also comes with Shazam's Find Music service, FM radio with RDS, 50 MB internal memory and a card slot for up to 8GB additional memory. The S5600 adds HSDPA connectivity at up to 7.2 Mbps, and comes with a 2.8-inch QVGA screen, 3.0 megapixel camera and 80 MB internal memory.
