S&P downgrades Oi's credit rating on expected debt haircut

Standard & Poor's (S&P) has reviewed the credit rating of Oi and downgraded the Brazilian operator from B- to CC on a global scale and from brBBB- to brCC on a national scale, with a negative outlook for both ratings. The downgrade follows proposed changes to Oi's debt restructuring plan that could result in significant losses for the company's creditors, S&P said.
