
Software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) specialist VeloCloud Networks announced that it has raised USD 35 million in Series D funding, led by Hermes Growth Partners and including new investors Telstra Ventures and Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the strategic investment fund of the Government of Malaysia, in addition to existing investors NEA, Venrock, March Capital Partners and Cisco Investments. In a statement, VeloCloud said the funding will be used to expand business, capacity and operations as the company accelerates new SD-WAN product development, supports larger customer rollouts and increases sales and marketing. VeloCloud’s total funding now stands at USD 84 million.
Since its last round of funding more than a year ago, VeloCloud has seen its number of SD-WAN sites grow to more than 50,000 and total customer wins now exceed 600 including deals from AT&T, Sprint, Mitel, TelePacific, and Windstream.
