SFR launches LTE service in Lyon
French operator SFR has launched commercial LTE services for consumer and business customers in Lyon. The operator has been running a pilot service with 400 customers in the city since the summer. Consumer services start at EUR 49.90 a month with 2 GB of data and a phone. There are also higher priced subscriptions with 4 GB and 6 GB of data. For business customers, SFR Business Team offers an LTE option on plans with a monthly data usage of 2 GB or more. SFR's LTE devices are the HTC One XL, Motorola Razr HD, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 4G, and a Huawei LTE dongle. The operator plans to extend its LTE coverage to Montpellier before the end of the year, followed by Lille, Marseille and Strasbourg in the first half of 2013.

French operator SFR has launched LTE service in Lille, the fifth large city of its 4G network. The operator said it will add Toulouse and Strasbourg before the end of the quarter and will accelerate its rollout. Orange France has launched LTE service in the Opera neighbourhood of Paris, ahead of its plan to cover the entire city by the end of the year and one day before rival SFR launches LTE in the La Defense area of the city.
