Siemens Information and Communication Mobile (Siemens mobile) will market an i-mode phone within weeks, according to an interview of Lothar Pauly, member of Siemens' board of directors with the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Pauly said on the battle for mobile operating systems: "The trend is to choose for the Symbian platform. Most industry players do not want Microsoft to become a dominant factor as happened on the PC market." E-Plus, the provider of i-mode services in Germany, did not want to comment if Siemens is a new supplier of i-mode phones, but repeated that the company will introduce new devices at CEBit 2003.
