Sinfilo wins press contracts
Sinfilo offers photograph and press agencies wireless Internet access to their head offices From now on photograph and press agencies can send their material to their editors over the Internet from the news scene. For this purpose Sinfilo, the Belgian WLAN pioneer, has concluded subscription agreements with Belga, Concentra (including the Belang van Limburg and Gazet van Antwerpen newspapers i.a.) and Photonews for the use of their wireless Internet hotspots in Belgium. The speed at which news is transmitted to their editors is of vital importance for journalists and photographers. The speed and technical reliability of data transmission actually play a crucial role in today's real-time news compilation. The Sinfilo hotspot network for wireless Internet communication, which is constantly growing, thus offers journalists and photographers considerable added value. They now no longer depend on a fixed Internet connection at their offices or editorial office to transmit their material, but are now able to communicate with their editorial office online from the news scene or in the direct vicinity. The Sinfilo hotspot network offers the user a range of contact points located in football stadiums, hotels, restaurants, conference centres and in various service areas. In real terms, this means that journalists and photographers reporting on a football match can transmit their material to their editors directly from the stadium by means of a wireless Internet connection. Or, on the road, they can connect at the Carestel motorway restaurant chain as well as in various petrol stations. In towns hotspots exist in hotels, cafes, fast-food restaurants, conference centres as well as in other easily accessible public locations. Media companies thus save money and time and also improve the quality of news compilation as a result of these wireless communication facilities.
