SK Telecom widens net loss in Q3
Korean communications provider SK Telecom widened its net loss for the third quarter to KRW 105 billion from KRW 44 billion a year earlier. Revenues, however, grew to KRW 4.13 billion from KRW 4.05 billion as the number of LTE subscribers and smartphone sales grew. SK Telecom accounted for 74 percent of consolidated revenue, with the remaining 26 percent coming from other consolidated companies. EBITDA fell to KRW 960 billion from KRW 1.22 billion as expenses rose to KRW 3.83 billion from KRW 3.49 billion on increased LTE marketing and network expenditure. EBITDA margin fell 6.8 percentage points to 23.3 percent. SK Telecom gained 119,000 net adds in the quarter to bring its mobile base to 26.78 million.
