Slovak Telekom claims to be the first operator in the world successfully to test HSPA+ 42 Mbps technology in single-carrier mode. Tests showed that the technology in single-carrier mode achieves results comparable with dual-carrier mode and measured data download speeds of up to 38 Mbps. The company noted the test on Slovak Telekom's network is significant for the whole Deutsche Telekom group. It is part of a group strategy to be a market leader in the field of mobile broadband. The tests were conducted in cooperation with Deutsche Telekom, Ericsson and Qualcomm. The operator currently is preparing the launch of commercial HSPA+ 42 Mbps in dual-carrier mode.
