Slovak Telekom to buy Digi Slovakia
Slovak Telekom has agreed to buy the company Digi Slovakia from Romania's RCS & RDS, after several months of negotiations. The acquisition will help Slovak Telekom strengthen its position in the TV services market. The acquisition still needs to be approved by the competition regulator. Slovak Telekom has around 180,000 TV customers, served over IPTV and satellite, as well as more than 15,000 users for its Magio TV mobile service. Digi Slovakia operates in Slovakia since 2006 and provides cable TV and internet in 10 cities. Most of the customers receive TV via satellite. It has 270,000 customers. No financial details of the takeover were disclosed.
