Slovenia calls mobile spectrum auction
Slovenia's Agency for Post and Electronic Communications (Apek) has announced a public auction of radio frequencies in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz and 2600 MHz bands. Interested bidders are invited to apply by 17 February. The price quoted will be the only criteria for the selection of the winner. At least two bidders need to take part in order for the auction to go ahead. The public tender will offer in total 500 MHz of spectrum, including 2x215 MHz paired and 70 MHz unpaired spectrum.

Slovenian mobile frequency auction to start by April

The frequency auction for mobile telephony in the bands of 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz and 2600 MHz will be held by the end of March or the beginning of April 2014, according to the Slovenian telecommunications regulator. In a response to questions from daily Finance, the regulator Akos also said that the deadline for submitting complaints and questions on the auction is 5 February. The starting price for all frequencies is around EUR 104.6 million.

Slovenia to reserve spectrum for newcomer, small operator

Slovenia's Agency for Post and Electronic Communications (Apek) will apply a cap on the amount of spectrum each operator can acquire in the upcoming frequency auction. Slovenian govt amends law to facilitate frequency auctions

The Slovenian Government has approved an amendment to the Law on Electronic Communications, which eliminates shortcomings to enable a smooth implementation of the auction of mobile frequencies, reports Sta.
