SoftBank eyes America Movil assets - report

Japanese operator Softbank plans to acquire the mobile assets put up for sale by America Movil, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter. According to the same sources, SoftBank has recently asked Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure to gather information on the assets that America Movil intends to sell. Softbank values the assets at around USD 10 billion, the sources added. Back in July, America Movil announced it would spin off its telecoms towers and sell assets to reach a market share below the 50 percent threshold, to comply with new regulations in the Mexican market.
