Sony announces new Xperia M smartphones
Sony Mobile Communications has announced the Xperia M smartphone. The device features Sony's OmniBalance design, first introduced with the flagship Xperia Z. Xperia M and Xperia M-dual will be available in black, white and purple , with a yellow colour variation also available for the single SIM model. Both models will be available worldwide from Q3 2013.

Sony sales boosted by smartphones, weaker yen

Sony reported revenues for its fiscal first quarter to June up 13 percent from a year earlier to JPY 1.713 trillion (USD 17.3 billion), boosted by the weaker yen and growing smartphone sales. Excluding currency effects, sales were down 3 percent.
