Sony chairman Stringer to leave company in June
Sony's non-executive chairman, Howard Stringer, announced in a speech to the Japan Society in New York that he would retire from the post at the end of his term in June to "move forward with new opportunities" he's been presented with. The Wall Street Journal reports that he did not say what he planned to do other than accepting board positions in areas such as education and medicine. Stringer was Sony's CEO between 2005 and 2012. Sony's current CEO, Kazuo Hirai, said Stringer told him of his plans to step down earlier this year.
