Sony Ericsson will launch the Xperia X10 in the first quarter next year. The Xperia X10 is the flagship device of a series of new phones planned for global launch, including in Japan, in the first half of 2010. The X10 is a HSPA phone running on the Android operating system, available in black or white. The handset is the first to feature Sony Ericsson Timescape, for managing communications across the phone, social networking sites, email, texts and photos, and Sony Ericsson Mediascape, for accessing content across the phone, web and the handset maker's PlayNow portal. Mediascape and Timescape automatically recognise connections between contacts, content and media, and can recommend alternative ways to communicate or find new media. Pressing the new "infinite button" brings all interactions with one person into one view, while intelligent face recognition features recognise up to five faces in any picture, automatically connecting them with the phone book and all other related communications with that person. The phone features a WGVA touch screen, aGPS and Google Maps, Wi-Fi, support for Exchange ActiveSync, the WebKit browser, media player and 3D games, as well as 1GB internal memory and a card slot for up to 16GB.
