Sony Ericsson unveils Xperia pro, neo, Play
Sony Ericsson has expanded its Xperia line-up with the Xperia neo, pro, and Play. The Xperia pro combines a touchscreen with a slide-out keyboard. Sony Ericsson touts the phone as a business phone running on Android as the phone features functions such as e-mail, calendar, and contacts synchronisation as well as Office Suite Pro. The pro further features Sony's Mobile Bravia Engine and the Exmor for mobile sensor for photographs as well as HDMI connectivity. The neo comes with many of the same features as the pro and has a unique shape that is ergonomically designed to fit perfectly in the user's hand, especially when taking pictures. The Sony Ericsson Xperia neo will be available globally in selected markets from end Q1 and Sony Ericsson Xperia pro from end Q2. Meanwhile, the Xperia Play comes with a 4-inch multi-touchscreen, social networking features and a slide-out gaming control. The slide out game pad reveals a digital D pad, two analogue touch pads, two shoulder buttons and the four PlayStation icons: circle, cross, square and triangle. The device features Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor with a 1 Ghz CPUas well as an Adreno GPU graphics processor for mobile gaming. The Xperia play runs on Android 2.3 and is a PlayStation certified device and has access to PlayStation game content provided through the PlayStation Suite initiative, currently under development by Sony Computer Entertainment and due to launch later this calendar year. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play will be available globally in selected markets from March 2011.
