
Sony introduces new PS Vita TV media player

Sony has unveiled a new version of its portable gaming device, the PS Vita, as well as a media player, known as the PS Vita TV. Unveiled in Japan, the new PS Vita is lighter and thinner than its predecessor, and offers a lionger battery life. The Wi-Fi version will launch in Japan on 10 October for JPY 18,980 (about USD 190), Engadget reports. Sony hasn't said when it will reach other parts of the world. Sony also announced the PS Vita TV, a small media box that plays Vita games, connects to PlayStations for multi-room gaming and offers Sony's music and video entertainment services. Priced at JPY 9,954, the TV device includes ports for Ethernet, HDMI, USB and memory cards and will support a range of apps for additional services, such as Twitter, Hulu and NicoNico Douga. It will launch 14 November in Japan.
