Sony sells 10 mln PS4, prepares launch of mini console
Sony announced that its PlayStation 4 games console has now sold over 10 million units worldwide. Launched late last year, the PS4 was at 7 million units sold in April. The announcement came at the Gamescom conference in Cologne, where Sony also announced the upcoming PS4 2.0 firmware update.

The firmware update will add the new feature Share Play, where users can invite a friend to join their game online, even when the friend doesn't own a copy of the game. Sony said the new software will also add "highly requested broadcast and video share features", including uploading game play footage and dedicated app support for YouTube.

Finally, the company confirmed that the Playstation TV, a mini version of the games console that also supports streaming media, will launch on 14 October in the US and 14 November in Europe.
