Sony unveils Xperia P, Xperia U
Sony Mobile Communications has introduced the latest additions to its Xperia NXT series: the Xperia P and Xperia U at the Mobile World Congress. In addition, the Xperia S, an HD smartphone, is now shipping to markets across the globe, with first sales in the Sony Style store in Barcelona. The Xperia P and Xperia U will be available to consumers globally in the second quarter of this year. Both phones feature the Reality Display powered by Mobile Bravia Engine, are powered by 1 GHz dual-core processors, and both phones run on Android 2.3. The Xperia P features a full aluminium unibody design and debuts WhiteMagic display technology from Sony for the first time on a smartphone. WhiteMagic technology delivers a bright viewing experience and automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen to the surroundings to conserve battery life. The Xperia P also comes with the new SmartDock which offers simple connectivity to multiple screens, a 8-megapixel camera, HDMI and DLNA connectivity, and NFC. The Xperia U features xLoud and Sony 3D surround sound technology. The phone also features a 5-megapixel camera. In Xperia U the transparent element illuminates to match the colour of photos viewed in the gallery or the album art of music tracks currently playing. Xperia U can also be personalised with exchangeable caps and themes to reflect consumers' personality and mood.
