
Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) raised USD 1 billion during its latest funding round led by Google and Fidelity. Existing investors inlcuded Founders Fund, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Valor Equity Partners and Capricorn. Google and Fidelity will collectively own just under 10 percent of the company.
SpaceX said it will use the money to support continued innovation in the areas of space transport, reusability, and satellite manufacturing. The latest funding brings the company’s valuation to over USD 10 billion, according to the Financial Times.
