Spain's Ahi+ acquires 3 rural operators, launches free TV promo
Spanish regional operator Ahi+, operating mainly in Andalucia, has continued with its expansion plan by acquiring three small rural operators and launching a new promotion with free access to its ‘Ahi+ TV’ service. The local operators acquired in recent weeks are Malaga’s Rebeloak, Toledo’s Vinfortel and Ciudad Real’s Vinfortalia, allowing Ahi+ to offer services in many more underserved parts of Andalucia and Castilla La Mancha.

Ahi+ president Jose Carlos Oya told El Economista that the operator’s aim is to bring full telecommunications services to areas with less than 25,000 inhabitants in Castilla La Mancha and Andalucia, reaching a further 12,000 homes and business via the new acquisitions. In Andalucia, Ahi+ currently offers more than 300,000 services and has 400 points of sale, having recently secured EUR 68 million in funding.

Separately, Movilonia reported that the operator is offering customers free access to its pay-TV service in a promotion available until 31 March. Anyone signing up to a convergent package by that date will be able to view the company’s basic EUR 3 a month film and series, sports and leisure TV package for free throughout the duration of their contract.
