Sprint creates Global Wireline business unit
Sprint has created a dedicated Global Wireline business unit to provide business customers with a range of network solutions supporting convergence and enabling business customers to integrate hosted and cloud applications and to increase productivity and network efficiency across the enterprise. The business unit will be headed by Sprint wireline sales and operations veteran Mike Fitz as vice president and general manager. He was previously vice president of the carrier’s Solutions Engineering department. 

The new business unit has full profit-and-loss responsibility, including strategy, sales, marketing, product management, solutions engineering and operations. Sprint now has dedicated sales representatives and solutions engineers who sell, design, implement and support wireline solutions for business customers, partnering with the Sprint wireless sales representatives to ensure a fully integrated approach to communications needs for business customers. 

The global Wireline unit's solutions include global MPLS a dedicated internet access with service available in over 155 countries, global SIP trunking and Sip Toll Free, unified communications solutions, managed network solutions, managed security services, and secure wireless and wireline access options for mobile employees.
