With its new sunrise webphone, full-service provider sunrise is offering innovative Internet telephony as of August 29, 2005. Anyone with a broadband Internet connection can take advantage of this service, regardless of which provider they use. For only CHF 5.90 a month, sunrise webphone clients can phone worldwide, and at no charge if they call other sunrise webphone subscribers. sunrise webphone has a large number of additional functions, for example conducting two calls simultaneously or managing calls online. sunrise webphone can also be used abroad.
With sunrise webphone, sunrise is launching an innovative VoIP-based (Voice over Internet Protocol) Internet telephony solution. For a monthly fee of only CHF 5.90 (which includes 120 minutes within the Swiss fixed network) and a one-off activation fee of CHF 20, sunrise webphone customers can conveniently phone over the Internet. They can use a regular analog phone (their PC does not have to be turned on) or call direct via their PC. All they need is a sunrise webphone starter kit and an ADSL or cable TV broadband connection.
Simple administration, lots of extra functions
A web-based administrative tool enables users to keep track of calls they have made or missed. It also lets them manage phone numbers and address lists and activate call forwarding. sunrise webphone offers many innovative additional services as well. For example, users can forward calls simultaneously to their office phone and mobile (call forking), with the call only forwarded when no one answers it (sequential ringing). sunrise webphone also permits two calls to be conducted at the same time without the need for an ISDN connection. sunrise webphone is also easy to use abroad – to call at Swiss rates. All that is needed is access to a broadband connection or hotspot.
sunrise webphone customers can talk to each other for free
All calls between sunrise webphone customers are free of charge. Calls to the Swiss fixed network are free for the first 120 minutes a month, after which they cost 3.5 cents at off-peak rate, and 6.9 cents at peak rate. Calls to the sunrise mobile network cost 31 cents per minute.
