Sunrise joins Telefonica Partner Program
Swiss telecommunications operator Sunrise has joined the Telefonica Partner Program. This enables Sunrise to profit from Telefonica's global coverage and partner with the Spanish operator in important business fields. Under the agreement, Sunrise can use Telefonica's global procurement division TGS for procuring hardware, IT and devices, as well as Telefonica's services for multinationals. In the future, more cooperation deals are planned.

Sunrise to change Tele2 into Tele4u per 1 November

Swiss telecommunications operator Sunrise will change the name of Tele2 to Tele4U per 1 November of this year. Sunrise acquired Tele2 Switzerland in 2009 and continued to offer services under the brand, but the acquisition agreement included a brand licence with the Tele2 Group that runs out at the end of this year. Tele4u will offer the same customer service and tariffs as Tele2 did and customers will not have change the configuration of their hardware.

Swisscom improves with mobile, other categories down - study

Swisscom has returned to the first place of the annual Telekom Rating study by Swiss magazine Bilanz, after losing the top spot to Orange Switzerland in 2010. Sunrise also passed Orange to become number two and Orange dropped to the third spot. The rating is based a survey executed by telecom consultancy Orcha. Swiss telecommunications operator Sunrise's business division Business Sunrise has optimized its Business DSL light services. These offering symmetric broadband up to 10 Mbps and asymmetric connections up to 30 Mbps and can be enhanced with several options like Availability plus for more connection security or naked which offers a data-only connection without voice support. The portfolio now includes VDSL-based services offering 10/1 Mbps instead of 5/0.5 Mbps for the same price.
