Sunrise president does not exclude new talks with Orange
The new supervisory board president of Swiss telecommunications operator Sunrise, Dominik Koehle, dismisses the criticism with regards to the number of his supervisory board memberships in an interview with Swiss newspaper Handelszeitung. He said that his history as Swisscom manager is a plus for becoming Sunrise's supervisory board president as he has connections within the Swiss telecom market. Koehle wants Sunrise to focus on offering new and better services during the coming years and sees no reason for talks with Swiss cable network operator Cablecom about a merger. For the longer term, he does not exclude a return to talks with Orange Switzerland about a merger, which was prohibited earlier this year by the Swiss cartel office Weko, depending on market developments.

The division has been renamed 'Business Sunrise' and has its own branding as the operator looks to position itself its as full-service provider. Orange Switzerland launches CineHome digital TV service

Orange Switzerland has announced the launch of the new Orange CineHome service on 17 January to bring cinema films direct into the homes of customers. It will offer a wide range of top films and TV series, with customers signing up by 12 June getting the first month free. Orange Mobile subscription customers (not Prima, Comfort and PrePay) will pay a reduced price of CHF 14 per month. Sunrise cuts cost of fixed-to-mobile calls from 2011

Swiss operator Sunrise plans to cut the cost of phone calls from the Swiss fixed-line network to all domestic mobile networks by 14 percent from 2011. The reduction will apply to over 360,000 Sunrise fixed-line and internet customers and follows an agreement between operators to cut termination rates. The cut means its fixed-line customers on the off-peak tariff (19.00 hours to 07.00 hours) will pay CHF 0.30 per minute for calls to mobile networks, down 14 percent from CHF 0.35 currently.

Sunrise revenues grow 2.9%, EBITDA up 16%

Swiss telecommunications operator Sunrise reports revenues of CHF 1.528 million for the first nine months of this year, growing by 2.9 percent year-on-year. At the same time, the EBITDA grew by 16 percent year-on-year to CHF 422 million leading to a EBITDA margin of 27.6 percent. Mobile service revenues grew by 5.9 percent to CHF 909 million, due to increase of 5.8 percent in mobile customers to 1.95 million on 30 September. Sunrise plans to develop as an independent company - CEO

Swiss operator Sunrise has no current plans to court its rivals and plans to develop as an independent company under its new owners CVC Capital Partners, APA reports. Swiss telecommunications company Sunrise Communications Holdings has launched a tap bond offering of its existing 8.5% Senior Notes due 2018 in an aggregate principal amount of EUR 56 million (equivalent to around CHF 75 million). If completed, the net proceeds from the offering will be used to redeem preferred equity certificates and for general corporate purposes.

Swiss cartel office Weko has approved the acquisition of Swiss telecommunications operator Sunrise by private equity investor CVC Capital Partners from Denmark-based telecommunications operator TDC. Sunrise to develop own TV service - report

Swiss telecommunications operator Sunrise plans to launch its own TV services, following the acquisition by private equity firm CVC, according to Swiss newspaper Handelszeitung cited unnamed sources.
