
sunrise will launch mobile broadband services on December 1, 2005, offering the best value for money anywhere in Switzerland. The hybrid network based on GPRS, EDGE, and UMTS technology permits transmission rates of up to 384 Kbps. It takes just 12 months for sunrise to achieve mobile broadband service coverage of 98% of the Swiss population. For the very first time in Switzerland, all sunrise customers with a broadband-compatible mobile phone can download entire MP3 songs to their handset, regardless of whether they have a mobile subscription or a prepaid card. Additionally, they can use Live TV with its 24 different channels plus video streaming and telephony; Live TV absolutely free until the end of February 2006.
Business customers can take advantage of a PC card unique to Switzerland which is based on GPRS, EDGE, and UMTS technology and makes it even easier to manage e-mail and company data or synchronize agendas while out of the office.
sunrise is opening the door to mobile broadband services and, beginning December 1, 2005, will offer unique services in the area of mobile entertainment, as well as high-speed mobile surfing and working options. The mobile broadband services can be used with existing sunrise SIM cards and are being offered to both prepaid and postpaid customers. The rates are the lowest in Switzerland and vary between CHF 3.50 and CHF 5 per MB. (All prices apply to mobile Internet connections within Switzerland only. Swiss premiere with sunrise live and musicworld: load entire MP3 songs onto your mobile phone
For the first time in Switzerland, sunrise is offering downloads of entire MP3 songs from the three big names in music (EMI Music, Warner Music, and Sony&BMG). sunrise musicworld has 50,000 songs to choose from – and the list is growing all the time. Depending on the category and artist, each song costs between CHF 1.50 and CHF 2.95. Since data transmission is included in the price, no extra expenses are incurred. All you need to use this service is a mobile phone that supports EDGE or UMTS and can download MP3 songs. The Nokia 6230i and the Nokia 6680 are particularly well suited for this.
sunrise live TV: 24 channels free until the end of February 2006
The high transmission speed offered by sunrise mobile broadband services also lets subscribers watch live TV on their mobile phones. As part of an attractive introductory offer, 24 TV channels are being offered at no charge in German, French, Italian and English between December 1, 2005, and February 28, 2006.
Video streaming, video telephony, and mobile photo editing
Video streaming and video downloads from the areas of sports, music and entertainment complement the range of services on offer – for children, youths and adults. Video telephony will also be available as of December 1, 2005. Both parties must be sunrise or Orange customers, have the correct type of mobile phone, and be situated in an area with UMTS coverage.
The sunrise photo album makes it easier to save, edit, manage, and share pictures taken with your mobile phone or digital camera. A partnership with Photocolor Kreuzlingen gives you the option of ordering hard copies of your best shots, which are then be sent out by mail.
