Timotheus Hoettges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom's fixed/broadband division T-Home, expects that EBITDA will drop 5-8 percent this year, less than the 14 percent decline reported for 2007. At the same time, the decline in fixed/broadband revenues is expected to reduce to 4-6 percent compared with a 8 percent drop during 2007. T-Home expects costs savings of up to EUR 1 billion, which will mostly be used for winning new customers, and it targets attracting around 1.6 million DSL customers in Germany. Hoetgess said that he expects that T-Home's revenue and EBITDA decreases will level out by 2010, when the fixed-line losses have been compensated by broadband customers and revenues.
