T-Mobile Netherlands gets new CEO from Telia
Deutsche Telekom has named Soren Abildgaard (48) the new CEO of T-Mobile Netherlands from 01 February. He comes from Telia Company, where he worked most recently as chief commercial officer and was previously CEO of Telia Denmark. Ablidgaard was notably not mentioned in the management reshuffle announced by Telia at the end of 2016. 

Abildgaard replaces Martin Knauer, who has worked as interim CEO since September last year, when Mark Klein stepped down. Knauer will resume his previous position of consumer director at T-Mobile Netherlands. Knauer was first appointed in July last year when DT overhauled the entire management at the Dutch subsidiary.

T-Mobile NL sales up 4.7% in Q4, adds 71,000 postpaid subs

T-Mobile Netherlands reported fourth-quarter revenues of EUR 356 million, up 4.7 percent from a year earlier. Mobile revenues were up 3.5 percent to EUR 352 million, and the company added EUR 4 million from the takeover of Vodafone's fixed business in December. EBITDA fell 35 percent to EUR 77 million, including a small loss from the fixed activities, and capex declined 38 percent to EUR 29 million. Telia Company replaces Sonera CEO as part of reorganisation

Telia Company said it will overhaul its organisational set-up from 01 January 2017. Stein-Erik Vellan will replace Sonera CEO Valdur Laid, and both Vellan and Telia Norway CEO Abraham Foss will become part of Group Executive Management. Following the recent announcement that TeliaSonera is changing strategic focus to develop operations in Europe and Sweden, Soren Abildgaard has been appointed as acting head of the new combined Group Commercial and Group Technology unit.
