T-Mobile Poland looks to enter fixed market with Orange wholesale deal

T-Mobile Poland is looking to enter the fixed market. The company has signed a letter of intent with Orange Poland on wholesale broadband access in non-regulated areas of the Orange network. The operators also began negotiations on wholesale access to the fibre network of Orange.

The cooperation does not provide for the right to further wholesale resale and defines some key commercial elements, such as the initial payment for access to multi-residence buildings inhabited by individual customers together with the installation fee and a monthly fee for broadband access for each active customer.

Thanks to the potential cooperation, T‑Mobile would get full access to the fibre-optic network of Orange, both in regulated and non-regulated areas. The network is planned to cover 5 million households by 2020.

T‑Mobile Poland is implementing the convergence strategy of Deutsche Telekom, using not just its own resources but also cooperation with other providers. Deutsche Telekom aims to become a convergent operator on all European markets where it is present, except for Albania.

The negotiations in Poland should be completed by 30 June 2018.

The companies have been also sharing their mobile networks within the JV Networks!.
