T-Mobile US launches own gin to mark 5G coverage milestone

T-Mobile US announced that its Extended Range 5G network has reached coverage of 300 million people, ahead of its year-end target. The Ultra Capacity 5G service, with peak speeds of 1 Gbps, covers 150 million people and is set to reach 200 million by year-end. To mark the milestone, the company has released its own spirit, 'Ultra Capacity 5Gin', and the non-alcoholic 'Extended Range 5Ginger' Beer.

The drinks will be available in limited quantities to order online from 24 June.

T-Mobile US said it is raising its existing full-year guidance for the second consecutive quarter as it unveiled record postpaid subscriber growth, service revenue and core adjusted profits for the three months ending June. The company now expects net customer additions to total 5.0-5.3 million in 2021, compared with previous guidance of 4.4-4.9 million and core adjusted EBITDA of 23.0-23.3 billion, up from its earlier forecast of USD 22.8-23.2 billion.

T-Mobile US said it will give USD 10,000 to the T-Mobile Little League Call Up Grant Program, for every home run hit with a magenta ball during the T-Mobile Home Run Derby. The programme helps under-resourced families cover Little League Baseball and Softball registration fees. As part of the operator's sponsorship of Major League Baseball, people will also be able to download the new MLB AR (augmented reality) app created by the league with T-Mobile, to get immersive AR experiences during the Home Run Derb

T-Mobile US said that it has earned the Well Health-Safety seal for 3,200 of its retail stores, 22 customer experience centres and its Bellevue and Kansas City headquarters. The Well Health-Safety rating was created by the International Well Building Institute (IWBI), an authority on healthy buildings, and incorporates guidance from more than 600 public health experts from around the world.

T-Mobile US has announced the launch of the Revvl V+ 5G smartphone, available exclusively at T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile. T-Mobile is also launching a 5G Augmented Reality (AR) game. The new smartphone will be available at Metro stores on 12 July and at T-Mobile stores and online from 23 July.

T-Mobile US is expanding its services for first responders, such as local police, fire services and ambulance operators. Those enrolled in its Wireless Priority Service with Connecting Heroes plans will have both priority access and preemption for voice calls and data on the network. New rugged devices also will be available, as well as more options for service plans.

T-Mobile US announced the next stage in its plan to grow its business market share, with the launch of new mobile and fixed-wireless broadband plans for small businesses. The plans are available from 01 June, when the company will kick off a marketing campaign with 'Shark Tank' star Daymond John. The operator also is partnering with Facebook to offer small business customers credit for online advertising.

The US National Advertising Division (NAD) has told T-Mobile US to modify claims implying that its merger with Sprint generated immediate benefits. The adverts at issue highlight "the best 5G network," the "most reliable 5G network," and the "best prices" for 5G service. The NAD noted that the complete integration of the T-Mobile and Sprint network will take 3-6 years and that the ads did not specify that the benefits to be expected will be in the future and not immediately available.
