T-Mobile US announced a new sales record for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, saying the first day of pre-orders represented the biggest single-day sales of any smartphone ever offered by the mobile operator. Pre-orders started 09 September and in the first four days were nearly four times more than the next most popular iPhone. Even before the first pre-order weekend, the iPhone 7 also broke records for pre-registration at T-Mobile, surpassing both the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6. T-Mobile did not release total sales figures for the phone.
The new Apple phones remain available for pre-order until 16 September when they will be available for sale in T-Mobile shops nationwide. Customers of T-Mobile's other brand, MetroPCS will be able to purchase the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus beginning 23 September.
Sprint also announced strong pre-orders of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. In the first three days, orders were up more than 375 percent over last year, the operator said.
