TalkTalk starts sales of YouView TV packages
UK home broadband provider TalkTalk has started marketing the new YouView TV service. It is offering TalkTalk Plus TV, with broadband and phone, for GBP 14.50 a month with free YouView box. Customers must also pay GBP 9.50 a month line rental and a GBP 50 installation charge.

TalkTalk to reorganise call centre operations

UK home broadband and phone provider TalkTalk is planning major reorganisation of its call centre operations. The CWU claims that this will involve site closures, relocation of some work and some off-shoring. Under the plans, TalkTalk will close its sites in Stoke Mandeville and Milton Keynes in 2013 - the Stoke Mandeville site shutting by February and Milton Keynes by Christmas 2013. YouView launches major advertising campaign

UK internet TV service YouView has launched a major advertising campaign, starting with a TV ad during the first break on ITV's X Factor show on Saturday 22 September. YouView offers subscription-free digital TV and catch-up TV. YouView partners BT and TalkTalk are now offering YouView set top boxes to their customers across the UK as part of TV, phone and broadband packages.

BT accepts pre-registrations for new YouView TV service

BT is accepting registration for the new YouView TV service, which will be available from the company from 26 October. Customers pre-registering now can order a YouView box with BT Vision the week before launch. BT customers must pre-register by 18 October. BT buys Humax set-top boxes for YouView launch - report

BT has been forced to buy additional set-top boxes from Humax to meet the timetable for the launch of the YouView internet TV service after rejecting boxes from its intended supplier. The Financial Times has learnt that boxes from Pace did not meet its requirements. BT had expected to launch Humax as well as Pace boxes after launch. TalkTalk creates 500 new jobs for TV service roll-out

UK home phone and broadband provider TalkTalk is creating 500 new jobs as it rolls out its new TV service, The Telegraph reports. The jobs will be for engineers to visit the homes of customers who have signed up for the new YouView TV service.
