TDC Mobile has concluded an agreement with Telia on exchange of picture messages between the two companies’ customers. The agreement means that TDC Mobile’s customers can send MMS messages to Telia’s customers - and vice versa.
“We are convinced that mobile picture messages will become hugely popular, and the new agreement helps open up for wider use of picture messages in Denmark,” says Anders Christjansen, Vice President, TDC Mobile.
For the time being, TDC Mobile’s customers can send picture messages free of charge - both to TDC’s and Telia’s network.
“Already at this early point, we can see that TDC Mobile’s customers are thrilled and have welcomed the new possibilities that picture messages offer with open arms. This proves to me that the customers are ready to use the cell phone for other and more than voice and SMS,” continues Anders Christ-jansen.
TDC Mobile expects to enter into similar agreements with the other telecom-munications companies in the near future, and TDC Mobile’s service providers will be offered both MMS and GPRS over the next few months.
