Telcel allowed to bid in Mexican 2.5GHz tender

Thursday 10 August 2017 | 10:35 CET | News
Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) has cleared the way for the participation of mobile operator Telcel (America Movil) in the forthcoming tender of spectrum in the 2.5GHz frequency band. However, in view of the fact Telcel already owns spectrum in the 2.5GHz band after it acquired around 60Mhz from media company MVS Communicaciones last month, the operator will only be able to take part in the second and third bidding rounds.
