Telecom Italia denies reports of capital increase
Telecom Italia has denied a report in daily Il Messaggero that a capital increase is on the agenda of its board meeting scheduled for 1 August. The company's shares still dropped almost 5 percent on the news. In a related development, the shareholders association Asati asked the board of Telecom Italia to present measures to strengthen the company's capital to shareholders by the end of December.

Telecom Italia cuts outlook, to go ahead with fixed spin-off

Telecom Italia reported a net loss for the first half of 2013 after writing down the value of its domestic operations. It also cut its outlook for EBITDA this year forecasting a steeper decline due to weakness in its home market. The net loss totaled EUR 1.407 billion, versus a profit of EUR 1.242 billion a year ago. Telecom Italia talks to Qatari investors - report

Telecom Italia has held discussions with Qatari funds about selling a stake in its spun-off fixed-line business, people familiar with the matter told the Financial Times. The Italian group is already in advanced talks with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, an Italian state-backed fund, to sell up to 30 percent of the separated network. Telecom Italia targets EUR 1.5 bln from property - report

Telecom Italia wants to dispose of between 4,000 and 5,000 buildings and properties across Italy, to raise at least EUR 1.5 billion to go towards debt reduction. According to daily Milano Finanza, the operator finalised the plans and named as advisor Phinance Partners. Their task will be to study the available assets and how best to market them to potential buyers. Banca IMI (Intesa Sanpaolo) is also reportedly involved in the sale process.

Telecom Italia net profit down sharply, sales fall 8% in Q1

Telecom Italia reported first-quarter revenues down 8.1 percent year-on-year to EUR 6.796 billion. Domestic revenues fell 10.1 percent to EUR 4.024 billion, and revenues from Brazil and Argentina were dampened by negative currency effects. EBITDA declined 10.1 percent to EUR 2.672 billion, and the margin dropped to 39.3 percent from 40.2 a year ago, hurt by a larger share of business from South America, where margins are lower, and higher smartphone sales. Telecom Italia raises EUR 750 mln with hybrid bond

Telecom Italia has raised EUR 750 million in the issue of a subordinated bond, as part of its EUR 3 billion hybrid bond programme announced in February. Telecom Italia said strong demand for the 60-year bond allowed it to price the issue at a lower yield than the initial guidance. The fixed annual rate was set at 7.75 percent until the first call date in 2018. Additional coupon step-ups are planned, of 25 bps in 2023 and 75bps in 2038.
