
The top management of Telecom Italia have resigned, opening the way for the operator's new controlling shareholders to name their own executive team. Chairman Pasquale Pistorio, deputy chairman Carlo Buora and CEO Riccardo Ruggiero have all tendered their resignations, effective from the date of the next board meeting. The board plans to meet on 3 December to deal with new appointments. Telecom Italia's new controlling shareholder consortium recently unveiled its proposals for new management at the Italian operator. Mediobanca, which is part of the consortium including Telefonica, Assicurazioni Generali, Intesa Sanpaolo and Sintoni, has proposed Gabriele Galateri di Genola as chairman and Franco Bernabe as CEO.
