Telefonica Deutschland launches O2 unlimited data plan, new fixed-mobile offer

Telefonica Deutschland entered the next stage of its O2 freedom campaign with the launch of two new tariffs, O2 Free Unlimited and O2 my All in One, as of 21 August. The new unlimited mobile data plan and fixed-mobile bundle see the company follow rivals Vodafone and Telekom with its own sharply priced offers. 

With these propositions, O2 said it continues to focus on profitable data growth among new and existing customers. O2 Free Unlimited offers unlimited mobile data at EUR 59.99 per month, with LTE speeds of up to 225 Mbps. The plan also includes unlimited calls and SMS in Germany and for EU roaming. O2 my All in One offers mobile and fixed connectivity in one tariff, combining unlimited mobile data at up to 225 Mbps with fixed VDSL access at 50 Mbps for EUR 79.99 per month. Unlimited calls and SMS are also included.

The operator said O2 my All in One and O2 Free Unlimited tariffs complement the existing O2 Free portfolio and support its successful ARPU-up strategy.

O2 Connect is included for customers of the O2 my All in One who subscribe by 31 October. Thereafter it's available for an additional EUR 20 per month. During the 24-month contract, customers can use up to 10 devices at no extra cost. Smart devices are activated and centrally managed via the My O2 app.

The package includes the possibility to borrow smartphone and tables for retirement homes, in cooperation with mobile phones Emporia and Huawei. The package also includes a Sim card with the tariff O2 Free L Boost with 120 GB internet data.

Vodafone Germany allows eID to activate prepaid, CallYa digital tariffs

Vodafone Germany said it is supporting digital identification with its eID service. Customers who want to activate a new prepaid free card or a CallYa digital tariff can now also use Vodafone's digital ID service as well as the video identification process for registering their personal details.

Telefonica Germany doubles internet data of O2 tariffs for self-employed

Telefonica Germany said that it will double the amount of internet data available with its O2 tariffs for the self-employed from 04 February.  The self-employed will receive 40 GB of internet data instead of 20 GB with the O2 Free M Boost tariff at an unchanged price of EUR 29.99 per month, and 120 GB instead of 60 GB with the O2 Free L Boost tariff for EUR 39.99 per month. The tariffs also include unlimited calls and texts.

Telefonica Germany to sell Microsoft Surface Pro X laptop from 16 January

New customers can purchase the Microsoft Surface Pro X with 128 GB SSD storage in combination with the O2 My Data M plan by paying a one-off fee of EUR 7 and EUR 70.99 per month. The activation fee is EUR 39.99 and the minimum contract term is 24 months. The tariff includes 10 GB of mobile data. Customers pay a one-off fee of EUR 19 and EUR 82.99 per month with the O2 My Data M tariff if they want to purchase the device with 256 GB SSD storage space.

Telefonica Germany has announced the acquisition of Tarifhaus, an online marketing platform for mobile tariffs, for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition will broaden Telefonica's customer base. Tarifhaus will merge its operations with Telefonica's sales activities.
