Telefonica hits 1 mln Movistar Fusion subs in first 3 months

Telefonica has reached 1 million subscribers to its Movistar Fusion converged services offering. Telefonica launched its Movistar Fusion platform on 1 October. Movistar Fusion bundles landline, mobile telephony, fixed and mobile broadband connection, and TV service in a single product and all on the same bill. The line rental fee is also included in the price.

Movistar Fusion subscribers can bundle landline services, 10 MB broadband and a mobile line with 500 minutes for calls and 1 GB for data transfer. The price of this option, which includes line rental, is EUR 49.90 per month. ‘Movistar Fusion Fibra’ is also available and includes connection to Movistar's fiber optic service with speeds of 100 Mbps, a mobile line with 500 minutes for voice calls and 1 GB of data traffic for EUR 59.90 per month. Customers who subscribe to ‘Movistar Fusion TV’ and Movistar Fusion Fibra TV’, which include Imagenio Familiar pay-TV services, will be charged EUR 79.90 and EUR 89.90 per month, respectively.

Subscribers can also add other items to these offers to configure their communications services, such as mobile lines, multi-SIM cards or a handset renewal and financing plan.

Spanish MVNO Masmovil has launched a mobile voice and internet services bundle, dubbed 'Tarifa del Pueblo'. For EUR 28 (VAT not included) per month, subscribers receive unlimited calls to 150 numbers, 1GB for mobile data traffic and 50 SMS. The offer is available until 1 March, El Economista reports. The service is available with no tie-in period, call set-up fees, or service activation fee.

Jazztel mobile customer base jumps 141% in 2012

Spanish broadband communications provider Jazztel reports that it has increased its active ADSL customer base by 45,965 in the fourth quarter of 2012. The operator saw a 215,069 active customer increase during 2012. The active ADSL customer base reached 1.31 million, which represents a 20 percent customer base growth.

Spain's Knet launches fixed, mobile services bundle

Spanish regional cable operator Knet, operating in the La Rioja area as well as Navarra and Burgos, has launched a converged services offering dubbed 'Knet Unika'. The package includes ADSL connection with speeds of up to 8 Mbps, as well a flat-rate voice plan with calls to fixed national numbers and 60 minutes for calls to mobile numbers. Movistar has expanded its Fusion converged services offering with the launch of the 'Fusion Extra' mobile data add-on. The service includes 1GB of mobile data traffic per month and can be activated by any Fusion service user. Spanish telecoms regulator CMT has rejected Vodafone's appeal against Movistar's Fusion converged services offering. Back in September, Vodafone requested CMT to block Telefonica's integrated telecoms offer, dubbed 'Fusion', on grounds that, due to wholesale prices, the service cannot be replicated by competitors.

Telefonica targets 1 million Movistar Fusion service subscribers by year-end, Europa Press reports, citing Kim Faura, general director of Telefonica's operations in the Catalonia region. Over 25,000 customers have pre-registered for its Fusion service. Telefonica has received 5,000 Fusion pre-registrations in the Spanish autonomous community of Catalonia region and targets 200,000 by year-end in the region, Faura added.
