Telefonica to launch Windows 7 phones
Telefonica has confirmed plans to launch Windows Phone 7 handsets across its operations worldwide. The statement follows a visit by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer to Spain and a meeting with Telefonica's top executives. In addition to Microsoft's mobile products, the two companies discussed IPTV and cloud computing. Telefonica said a launch of the Windows 7 phones is "imminent".

Vodafone Spain will be the country's first mobile network operator to release a Windows Phone 7 (WP7) mobile, the HTC 7 Trophy, on 21 October. On 1 November, major rival Movistar will start selling its first three Windows Phone 7 Mobile handsets, the LG Optimus 7, HTC HD7 and Samsung Omnia 7. Orange announces three Windows Phone 7 mobiles

Orange has announced the delivery of three new phones based on Microsoft's Window Phone 7 operating system across its European footprint. Microsoft unveils first Windows Phone 7 handsets

Microsoft has unveiled the first phones based on its Windows Phone 7 operating system. The first nine handsets are from Dell, HTC, LG and Samsung and all run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. Windows Phone 7 lancering op 11 oktober

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer gaat 11 oktober om 15:30 de nieuwe Windows Phone 7 lanceren. Dat meldt Microsoft in gesprek met Telecompaper. Er zou nog geen Nederlandstalige versie van het toestel beschikbaar zijn, die is pas half 2011 beschikbaar. In het Verenigd Koninkrijk gaan de telefoons op 21 oktober in de verkoop (bron: Engadget).
