Telefonica's IPTV platform Imagenio has announced it has surpassed the 500,000 subscriber mark. More than 565 cities throughout Spain with a population over 100,000 are currently covered by the platform. In total, there are more than 5 million households technically capable of receiving the service, which includes TV, telephony and broadband internet. The platform has also signed a contract with technological developer Gesture Tek for the deployment of a system that can recognise gestures by the subscriber's hand via the decoder.
