Telefonica's Tuenti launches MVNO in Spain

Spanish social network Tuenti, acquired by Telefonica in August for EUR 70 million, has launched an MVNO on the local market. The company has not established a name for the MVNO yet, Sean Kane, Tuenti's general manager and VP of mobile development, writes on the Tuenti blog. The service is currently undergoing a pilot phase involving select users. As part of the test phase, new customers will be able to join the service after receiving an invitation. To mark the service launch, Tuenti will offer its customers the mobile chat service free of charge on their handsets.
